Dr. Erastus B. O. Akingbola is Vice Chairman/CEO
of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Nigeria’s fourth largest
bank. Dr. Akingbola. 55, has an excellent banking pedigree
spanning 35 years. He worked, between 1971 and 1988, with
Union Bank of Nigeria (former Barclays Bank), NAL Merchant
Bank Limited and First City Merchant Bank Limited.
In February
1989 he co-founded Intercontinental Bank and was pioneer CEO.
He is a recipient of Nigeria national award, Member of the
Order of the Niger (MON).
He holds an MBA, University of Lagos
and has attended senior management courses at Harvard Business
School, IMD Switzerland, IMD Singapore, INSEAD, and Lagos
Business School. He is a fellow of several professional bodies:
Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria; Chartered Institute
of Bankers, London; Institute of Chartered Secretaries &
Administrators (ACIS) and the Nigerian Institute of Management
(NIM).
